Symbolism in the Urban Environment – Lars Rebers

Every city has its own character, its own sound, and its own distinct scent. We experience cities with all our senses and, by default, interpret them realistically. At the same time, we perceive everything in our own unique way, which makes us who we are. It reveals a glimpse of our background and what we are made of.

This time, I have photographed in Budapest, Rome, and Vienna, capturing the symbols I have encountered in these cities.

I am particularly interested in cities and urban landscapes that primarily reflect human traces—yet without the presence of people themselves. This series continues my previous London-Paris-Berlin series, in which I explored tourist attractions.
