LADAF – Pop-up performance office Poriginal

June is the jewel of the international video performance, a spectrum of national artistic work, collections of crystallized moments, and diamonds of live art from Satakunta, ash, glitter, boardwalks, and buttery buns spread across the walls, workstations, windows, and event calendar of the Poriginal Gallery.

LADAF is an international live art management project that began in Pori in the spring and is gradually expanding its operations nationally and internationally, always from Satakunta. First, we invite the world to the Poriginal Gallery’s performance office to observe and participate in artistic and production work during June. The performance office is not only an exhibition but also a research laboratory for finding, testing, and developing new ways of promoting and supporting art. In the gallery’s upper floor, artists from across Finland are working on their upcoming pieces in the Work in Progress studio, while the regional artist for performing arts of Satakunta, Marika Rädy, has a temporary office, and the curator of the Pori Art Museum, Anni Saisto, runs a wiki workspace. Additionally, the gallery’s lower floor hosts, throughout the exhibition, the sixth edition of the internationally recognized Performance Voyage video series, curated by Muu ry, stopping in Pori on its world tour, right after Athens, Greece, and Wrocław, Poland. We are also building a performance archive, experimenting with research-based art experiences, and reviving classic pieces from 50 years ago.
