JASMIN ANOSCHKIN AND HEINI RIITAHUHTA
Artists of the Arabian Art Department, Jasmin Anoschkin and Heini Riitahuhta, bring the Poriginal Gallery to life after the summer break.
The Arts & Crafts Association of Pori has invited the artists to visit Pori. The exhibition celebrates the 110th anniversary of the association. The exhibition will feature the joyful sculptures of Jasmin Anoschkin and the ceramic reliefs of Heini Riitahuhta. The works were completed in 2016-2017. Heini Riitahuhta describes her working process:
“I love experiments and variations. I embed layered patterns and shades into thick glazed surfaces, which serve as reminders of fleeting moments. The surfaces of abstract flowers reflect these small mood images.”
JASMIN ANOSCHKIN (1980)
Jasmin Anoschkin is a sculptor born in Pori and based in Helsinki, who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2004. Known as a vibrant expressionist, she works with wood using an axe and chainsaw and shapes clay with a bold approach. Her works have a raw and grounded essence, strongly connected to the imaginative world of childhood, play, and toys. Anoschkin had her first solo exhibition in 2003, and since then, her works have been widely exhibited both in Finland and abroad (e.g., Taidehalli, Purnu, Lönnström Art Museum, Galleria Sculptor, Washington D.C., Nice, Berlin). In 2012, Anoschkin was named the Young Visual Artist of the Year in Satakunta, and in 2014 she became a member of the Arabian Art Department Association. In 2017, Anoschkin received the Post Art Award, and since September 2017, her works have been featured on postage stamps. Her works can be found in collections such as WAM, the Niemistö Collection at the Hämeenlinna Art Museum, Vantaa Art Museum, the Paulon Foundation, Lönnström Art Museum, and the Finnish State Art Collection.
