…still empty – Taidekollektiivi T-huone
What is Emptiness?
Is emptiness a human invention, and therefore a concept that can only be grasped through human imagination? Emptiness does not exist in any physical form—its most defining “feature” is the absence of features. Yet, the term is used to describe both the physical state of matter and the emotional state of individuals and relationships.
Who am I? What is my place in the world? The death of a loved one or the end of a relationship can create a feeling of emptiness. Some people, on the other hand, have chosen to live surrounded by emptiness, giving up most of their possessions. The trend of minimalism stands as a counterforce to material hoarding, but even minimalism does not seek emptiness itself—it seeks to fill space with emptiness.
The exhibition …still empty presents the perspectives of the artist collective T-Huone on these themes. It will be on display at Poriginal in Pori from July 2nd to July 19th. T-Huone is an artist collective whose members are connected by their shared education in fine arts at Kankaanpää Art School. The artists representing the collective in this exhibition are Suvi Hammar, Cecilia Koskela, Marika Minkkinen, Aija R-K, and Samuel Antero Laakso.
The exhibition is supported by the Arts Promotion Centre Finland and Konto Oy.
