BABY PIERROT – Daniéla Vainio

Daniéla Vainio’s Baby Pierrot Exhibition is a study of everyday representation and performativity.

In Vainio’s works, the adult world is embodied through the figure of a child, while the recurring presence of Pierrot, the archetypal character from Commedia dell’arte, reflects our contemporary existence—both behind and in front of glass screens. At the heart of the exhibition lies a fundamental question: For whom do we perform, and why?

Vainio incorporates photography, video, and text in her works.

Daniéla Vainio (b. 1989) is a photographic artist working in Helsinki and London. She graduated from the University of the Arts London and the University for the Creative Arts. Vainio is a member of Tate Exchange and the founder of Artpod. The exhibition at Poriginal Gallery marks the first time this body of work is being presented in Finland.
