CAR RAPID, PAINTINGS, ETC. – JOAKIM WOLFF
The use of linen in my work dates back to Sénégal. A very common sight when walking down the street is people working on old sheet metal for reuse. The influences of the American artist Jasper Johnson have also started to creep into my work. Add some sort of Afro-Finnish thing to all this and you’ve got the whole thing.
This exhibition, which I put together at Poriginal Gallery, is a continuation of last year’s “Dunken Dunk” exhibition in Helsinki, as well as the “Jere Jeff” series, which was shown simultaneously in a joint exhibition in Nauvoo, and the “Quel Punch!” exhibition, which spent the winter months at Restaurant KuuKuu in Helsinki. This exhibition features works from these exhibitions together with new works.
