FROM THE LAND OF SHADOWS – Jussi Pyky

A black starry sky and the depths of the mind.
I look inward and outward.
Into eternity or limitation.
With feelings of both dread and wonder.

Something lurks in the shadows of the forest, and from the light, one cannot see into the darkness.
From the black soil, vague figures emerge—
Primordial raw material for creativity or rage.
A journey from the primordial ooze to humanity.

Ancient forests are felled.
Bogs are drained.
Lines, roads, and pathways fracture the land.
Light pollution obscures the night sky.
The waking mind forgets its dreams.
And the birds no longer sing.
