Heli Vehkaperä (b. 1976) works with painting, paper, and textile-based artworks. In her artistic practice, she is interested in how an image becomes visible and in the dialogue between the artist and the artwork. Human experience, being in the world, uncertainty, and incompleteness—as well as learning to endure these aspects in her work—form the foundation of her practice.
