THE RURAL LANDSCAPE, FROM MILLENNIUM TO ANOTHER – SIRKKA-LIISA UNKILA

The rural landscape represents permanence from time to time. With small inkblots, I have tried to represent parts of a larger whole, the countryside. I have left room for the viewer to see the colours and circumstances according to their own imagination. I have simplified the concepts of grandmother, cottage life, hot summer, etc., for reference. My acrylic paintings, on the other hand, are abstract mood paintings. Individual trees, lakes, sea coves, courtyards, villages with their fields, the tracks of a lone hare on a slope are, all in all, a serene, permanent rural landscape.
